Joanna is a graduate of American University, where she studied Sociology and Education Studies. She is passionate about issues around economic and racial justice, specifically related to education and healthcare. Joanna came from working in education at YouthBuild Philadelphia, where she helped facilitate job training and employment opportunities for students. Additionally, she has experience advocating for the rights of parents and students in New York City Public schools with the Coalition for Educational Justice. Joanna is excited to be working with PHAN to support communities in accessing their human right to health care and to expand coverage throughout Pennsylvania. When not working she enjoys reading, crafting, and finding good Philly food and music.
