Erin Ninehouser returned to PHAN in May 2017 after helping lead many of the organization’s outreach, education, and enrollment efforts from June 2010 through December 2015.
Erin holds a dual degree in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh (2006) with a certificate in the Helping Professions, and has a decade of experience in grassroots organizing, communications, public policy, and advocacy. She is a native of small-town Western Pennsylvania, and has a passion for improving the lives of those who, like many in her own family, have lost health and hope as jobs, security, and economic stability in the region have declined.
Erin is currently focused on making sure Pennsylvania’s new managed care system for long-term services and supports, Community HealthChoices, respects and is responsive to the needs of low-income seniors and people with disabilities.
She’ll be hosting educational forums, community conversations, and other events to engage seniors, caregivers, people with disabilities, and providers in the work of building a sustainable, accessible, and responsive long-term care system that improves not only health, but quality of life for our state’s most vulnerable residents.
