Emily A. Satifka is PHAN’s newest Community Health Organizer!
She has focused her studies and professional experience on social welfare policy and community outreach. Prior to working at PHAN, Emily served with City Year San Antonio as an Americorps member, and was the Field Director and Deputy Officer of Operations for the Emanuel Pleitez campaign for Los Angeles Mayor.
Her interest in healthcare was sparked while interning at Senator Bob Casey’s office and working on health and family issues. She is passionate about child welfare reform, public health and educational equity issues.
Emily previously wrote and presented a policy advisory report to both Congress and White House domestic policy advisors regarding health standards in the child welfare system.
Emily received her B.A. Summa Cum Laude from Temple University in Political Science.
