Roughly 1 in 5 Pennsylvanians is currently enrolled in Medicaid. In March 2016, there were 2.7 million Pennsylvanians (including children) enrolled in Medicaid, 80 percent (2.2 million) received coverage through a Medicaid managed care organization (MCO). Managed care organizations are insurance companies who contract with the state to provide Medicaid benefits to eligible persons.

HARRISBURG, PA--Today the Pennsylvania Insurance Department (PID) posted preliminary rate information for 2017 health insurance plans sold in the individual and small group markets, which includes the Health Insurance Marketplace (HealthCare.gov), in Pennsylvania. Open enrollment in the Health Insurance Marketplace (Healthcare.gov) this year will begin November 1st and continue through January 31st.
