AdultBasic Sings the Blues

Last week, PHAN organized five events across the Commonwealth to call on state lawmakers to preserve the adultBasic health insurance program.

Warren physician endorses SB 1137, PA Access to Basic Care

Dr. David M. McConnell, Jr., a general pediatrician in rural northwest Pennsylvania, endorsed Senate Bill 1137 and Pennsylvania Access to Basic Care (PA ABC) in a June 4th letter to the Warren Times Observer.

"I work with many families that have no health insurance for the parents of my patients. Even if they have Medicaid or other insurance for their children’s health care coverage, these parents do not have coverage for themselves, in spite of full-time jobs. This becomes even more critical when there is a special needs child in the family."

“The need is urgent and it is time for action.”

Karen F. Snider, former secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, wrote in the May 22nd edition of the Harrisburg Patriot-News in support of expanded health insurance coverage.
