This Valentine’s Day, the 42,000 folks on adultBasic had little to celebrate. The looming shut off of their insurance in just 14 days left many with heavy hearts, and with the unshakable anxiety that comes with losing a critical lifeline. But, determined not to sit back and stay silent while Gov. Corbett’s plan to end adultBasic goes ahead, over 50 of these adultBasic consumers turned out at actions across the state to call on the Governor to have a heart, and keep his campaign promise to maintain adultBasic.

This Valentine's day, health advocates, community members and adultBasic policyholders facing an abrupt shut off of their insurance will come together across the state to call on Governor Tom Crobett to save adultBasic health coverage for 41,000 hardworking Pennsylvanians  before it's too late.

Delaware County League of Women Voters Spend an Afternoon with PHAN Staff Learning the Benefits of the New Health Care Law

On Thursday afternoon despite the hot and humid weather eight women from the league of women voters of Delaware County got together to learn the ins and outs of the new health care law. It was an afternoon of learning, lemonade and cookies. Join us for our next Leadership Initiative training this Saturday, July 17th and the Philadelphia Unemployment Project from 10:00am-1:00pm. The office is located at 112 N Broad Street on the 11th floor.

PA Submits High Risk Pool Proposal to HHS

Two weeks ago the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance submitted their High Risk Pool Proposal. If approved Pennsylvanian's will be able to start enrolling on August 1st. The High Risk Pool will cover on average 5,100 people from 2010-2013 HHS will award contract by July 1st Enrolment will begin August 1st
