Earlier this afternoon, health care advocates stood shoulder to shoulder with physicians, providers, lawmakers and faith leaders to press forward in the campaign to bring jobs and coverage to Pennsylvania through the Medicaid expansion.
As we speak, over 150 advocates are on their way to the Capitol to tell lawmakers it’s time to take the money to Cover the Commonwealth, and bring jobs and health care coverage to Pennsylvania families.
PHAN Issues Statement on Medicaid Expansion and Governor Corbett’s Budget
Harrisburg, Pa (February 5, 2013) - Today Governor Corbett did not appropriate federal funds in his proposed budget that have already been allotted to Pennsylvania to offer health care coverage to approximately 700,000 working families.
Under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), Pennsylvania an unprecedented opportunity to expand health care coverage to betewen 400,000 and 500,000 residents. The new law provides federal funding for states to expand Medicaid to people making up to 138 percent of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).
