PHAN partners with Georgeanne Koehler to Launch Holiday Postcard Campaign For Reform

Georgeanne Koehler has devoted herself to working tirelessly for American health care reform that puts people before insurance company profits - she believes that, when it comes to something as basic as health care, we should stand together to make sure everyone is covered and that greed doesn’t come between anyone and adequate care. Georgeanne has a very personal motivation for her beliefs and her work – her brother lost his job and his health insurance and, because of a serious heart condition, could not get coverage. He worked as a pizza delivery driver and when his defibrillator battery died, so did he; slumping over the steering wheel of his car. Please consider her request below:

  “We have many miles to go before we rest on our journey for quality affordable healthcare insurance for all Americans. We need to send a message, to our President Barack Obama and our elected officials, that our resolve is strong and that our journey will continue until all our goals are met. I need your help to send that message. I am asking you, your family and friends to send me a postcard with your ‘holiday wish’ for health care reform. I promise you I will get them to Washington DC.

 My postcard reads:  Dear President Obama and members of Congress, if on Dec. 15th, 2007 we had had healthcare reform with a public option, our family wouldn't have an empty chair at our Christmas dinner this year. Thank you for loving Americans so much.
