PA State Nurses Association Endorses PA Access to Basic Care

In a statement released June 18, the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association (PSNA) voiced strong support for Pennsylvania Access to Basic Care (PA ABC), the plan to offer affordable health insurance to 257,000 uninsured Pennsylvanians.

“While PSNA represents the professional interests of the over 200,000 registered nurses in Pennsylvania, we also protect the associated health interests of the patients that we serve.  PSNA is committed to improving access to health care and works to ensure that no one is denied access to primary care services simply because they are uninsured.

“PA ABC is a viable solution that will provide affordable health care coverage to a large portion of our uninsured and under-insured population.  The Pennsylvania State Nurses Association is committed to working with the legislature and our patients to improve health care access, quality and affordability and we strongly urge the Senate to seriously consider the PA ABC plan and make it a top priority.”
