What the #ACAMeans to Jeannette’s Family

One local Mom in the Pittsburgh suburbs talks about what the Affordable Care Act means for her family. For them, it means their 23-year-old son can continue to receive the health-sustaining treatments he needs to deal with Crohn’s disease, a chronic and painful illness he developed at the age of 13.

Without the new law, he’d be facing enormous medical bills and the prospect of being denied outright the opportunity to purchase health insurance.

Their story is one more reminder of why we can’t go back. We can’t turn our health care back over to the big insurance companies and those doing their bidding in Congress. It’s time to move forward, for Jeannette’s family and for all of our families…
